Why a developer chose HubSpot over building a Website from scratch

As a software and cloud engineer with ample experience in the tech industry, you would think that building my own website from scratch would be a natural inclination. But when faced with the decision, I chose to use HubSpot instead – a decision that was both practical and strategic for me.

Making a website from scratch is certainly captivating. It provides immense creative freedom and also allows scope for customization. Yet, it can be a time-intensive process. Even for someone skilled in coding, it involves not only creating the site but also maintaining it over time: debugging, developing new features, securing it, and ensuring it runs smoothly.

That's where my decision to use HubSpot instead came in. As a busy engineer, time is of the essence, and HubSpot offered an efficient, user-friendly solution. It does the heavy lifting of site building without compromising on the aspects of design and customization, so I could focus more on critical tasks related to my role, instead of getting bogged down by web development and maintenance issues.

HubSpot’s design manager is a powerful tool that enabled me to create and customize my website easily. Its multitude of professional, customizable templates was another factor that inclined me towards HubSpot.

As an engineer, I couldn't neglect the importance of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and HubSpot took that into consideration. Its built-in SEO tools enabled me to optimize my site efficiently without having to hunt down separate resources or tools.

A great bonus was HubSpot's embedded analytics. Rather than coding my own or integrating another service, HubSpot had analytics baked right in to track performance, allowing me to make data-driven decisions.

Security is a crucial aspect of any website, and HubSpot handled this too. It provides robust security measures, ensuring my site is well protected without having to manage it manually.

Lastly, HubSpot integrated easily with other platforms I use, enabling me to unify my website with my other marketing and CRM tools.

In conclusion, using HubSpot as a software and cloud engineer made sense for the kind of efficient, adaptable, and comprehensive solution I was looking for. It gave me more time to focus on building software and managing cloud infrastructure, rather than coding and maintaining a website. That’s the key reason I trusted HubSpot rather than building a website from scratch. It’s not about choosing the easy way out, but choosing the most efficient and productive path.
